Transitional housing should NOT be put in established residential neighborhoods. The increase of apartments in Sandy has led to an increase in gangs and violence - especially in the area of Midvale/Sandy/Cottonwood heights. Consider what has happened to South Salt Lake when shelters have been put into neighborhoods. While all citizens deserve a better life, it should not be at the expense of long-time residents in neighborhoods that are safe to live in, etc. I vote to tighten the rules, allow these transitional homes near to ALREADY established type support centers.
