The Alta Canyon Rec Center maintenance should be handled the same way as the golf course and amphitheater. Users should pay for the cost. If the building is being used for teams sponsored by Sand Rec, then their registration fees should cover their share. If city offices are housed in the building, then that percentage of the upkeep can come from the city budget. I have been consistent in supporting pay raises and tax increases for essential public safety and public works. I already pay a fee for a rec center that meets my needs, I do not want to pay taxes or fees for a venue that I never use. If I decide to use it, then I can pay the entrance fee at that time.
