Thanks for being willing to schedule a meeting just after a holiday to take care of some items. Your service is appreciated.
I was excited and grateful to hear that the additional Code Enforcement Officer will initially be spending some time in Historic Sandy. Hopefully, this means that there will be time for the officer to notice properties that need some action so that citizens don't have to spend time looking up addresses and creating lists of the many concerns they notice as they drive through the city during their daily activities. A public campaign to remind people that they can cut back on watering, but not weed pulling and mowing might be helpful. Many of the issues I see are park strip xeriscaping that has not been maintained and weeds growing along the outside edges of fences and in the lines between the curbing.
A traffic issue along with running red lights, muffler noise, and speeding is people not understanding that the signs on traffic lights that show left turn only also mean no U turn. I realize it would be expensive, but posting a no U Turn sign along with the left turn only sign might prevent some accidents. The person driving behind the illegal driver is the one that is going to end up rear-ending the one who comes to almost a complete stop to make the U turn. Sometimes the illegal driver also swings wide and almost hits a person making a right hand turn into the lane by the curb.
