I am writing to ask the council to please address the issue of unlicensed, unregulated, and unlimited use of individual homes in residential areas as short-term rentals. In light of recent events it is due some attention. There are many cities that address this via zoning laws. We have to stop this from happening to every or even a hand-full of homes and apartments available in residential areas during this housing crisis. Inventory is being taken up by these types of rentals and our neighborhoods and communities stand to suffer greatly. Please google what is happening in Jackson Hole, Moab, Galveston, Texas. Who we do want our city, county and state to be? Do we want our local residents living in tent cities so they can serve tourists who are living in available single family housing (homes, duplexes, apartments)? Please talk about this. It is past time.
