All the research and data shows abundant benefits to the voter. Not only will their vote count, but with RCV their vote goes further. I support Sandy implementing RCV for this upcoming election.

Please support Rank Choice Voting. Easy to understand. Save money because you don't need a primary. Number of cities already using it, so help near by.

I feel now is not the time to change the voting process without more information presented to the citizens of Sandy. Nor do I feel the city council should be the one to decide the process. The citizens should be the ones to decide weather it is changed, by given the time and information to make any changes by a general consensus vote.

Leave voting alone, it's fine as is

I strongly support the adoption of Ranked Choice Voting and hope our council will take advantage of our opportunity to test it.

When voters are able to rank candidates in their order of preference, it tones down the rhetoric. Successful candidates must consider how to appeal (and represent!) not just their natural base but also the base of their competitors. They must emphasize commonalities across constituencies when it is possible and speak respectfully when it is not. I believe that the result will be less polarization, more civility, and a greater sense that our votes count.

Ranked Choice Voting is both possible and practical. It eliminates the need for a primary. The arguments I have heard against Ranked Choice Voting are from the perspective of candidates. I hope you will act on behalf of what’s best for voters. Please act now to take advantage of our opportunity to test out Ranked Choice Voting.

RCV has been tried in other locations and has had very high voter approval. I think it is the right time for Sandy City to try it.

This consequential of a decision requires more than notice a vote is taking place. 1)present the idea to Sandy residents 2)present the rollout pla if adopted, including budget and resident education 3)present desired outcomes , if adopted 4)present metrics for measuring outcomes

Now is not the time for the City Council to rush headlong into Ranked Choice Voting without some serious time to properly publicize and have a public discourse on the issue. You're talking about completely changing the way we vote. Many of my fellow Sandy citizens have expressed dismay at this system being adopted. My take is that ranked choice voting is merely a scheme to disconnect elections from issues and allow candidates with marginal support from voters to win. This is a very bad idea.

Yes, for Sandy City to participate in Ranked Choice Voting Pilot now, in 2021 municipal elections!, innovative mail in ballot already the norm... now we can also make every vote count by supporting ranked choice voting. If My vote cannot help my first choice win, my vote will still count for my nest choice! YES NOW for Ranked Choice Voting.

Great idea in theory and worth piloting in Sandy.
